RESULTS 2011 :

The Open European Endurance Championship 2011. Ispagnac, logistic base of the « 160km of Florac », 10thSeptember 2011. A festive atmosphere, many marquees, large and small ones, stables for the horses, speakers, horse and team presentations, and lots of people everywhere in the area.

4.30 am. The start of the race is given on the Pré Morjals, 83 riders from 18 different nations taking a start in the night with their horse to the cover the 160km of the race, in direction of Barre des Cévennes and the Mount Aigoual and coming back to Ispagnac by the Causse Méjean.5.02 pm. Ali Khalfan Al Jahouri and his mare Kalifa arrive on the pré Morjals, alone, to cross the finishing line. They have a 10-minutes lead on their first pursuers.

The race has received a very large media attention: FR3 has been very present during the whole week prior to the race, to show this mythical race on television, the breeding competitions organized during the days before, the conferences, all the trades that are developing around this hardly known discipline.
Many French and foreign reporters have followed and covered the event in the newspapers.
Many spectators as well, locals and people who came from far away to assist at this international event in the Lozère : Ispagnac has welcomed around 8000 persons that day. We will never forget the endless serpentines of crew or spectators’vehicles reflecting in the sun on the Causse Méjean. Never before a European Endurance Championship had aroused that much craze!

We have to thank the complete organizing team of Lozère Endurance Equestre and all the volunteers who have in some way participated at this organization.

We also want to thank all our partners, for believing in this challenge and for trusting us to take up this challenge. We think we can all be very satisfied.
